Minnesota turkey farms hit by avian influenza outbreak

Two commercial turkey farms in Minnesota reported avian influenza outbreaks, according to the most recent update from the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).

The reports came out of Blue Earth and Kandiyohi counties. The first outbreak impacted 11,900 turkeys, while the second impacted 53,700 turkeys. 

In the last 30 days, APHIS has confirmed outbreaks in 24 flocks across 10 states.
