International Poultry Day 2012

GERMANY - EuroTier 2012 and the World Poultry Show will kick off with a pre-show event, International Poultry Day, to be held on 12 November. The event is being organised by the European Poultry Club (EPC) in partnership with the German Poultry Association (ZDG) and the DLG (German Agricultural Society).

This year’s edition is a particularly special occasion since it will mark the 10th anniversary of the EPC.

As one of world's fastest growing livestock sectors, the poultry industry faces many unique challenges, and International Poultry Day brings poultry professionals from around the world together to tackle them.

With its theme ‘European poultry production yesterday, today and tomorrow’, the event will cover topics ranging from genetic selection in poultry to market trends and consumer behaviour.

Proceedings will begin at 14:30 with opening speeches by Gerhard Wagner, EPC President, and Vladimir Fisinin, President of the Poultry Union from Russia.

The conference will be followed by a dinner event and post-dinner address by Sergei Mikhailov, Chief Executive Officer of Cherkizovo Group OJSC, Russia. The event will take place in the convention centre, Room 1A.Pre-registration is required with Heidy Schonebeck; email: h.schonebeck(a)dlg.org.

Technical Forum in Hall 8

During EuroTier 2012, the World Poultry Show will host no less than 29 discussions and presentations covering a range of topics at its Technical Forum located in Hall 8, Stand B05.

Almost half of the sessions will be accompanied by simultaneous translations into English for the benefit of international visitors. These will take place every morning between 10:00 and 11:45.
