Big Dutchman, a global manufacturer of equipment for poultry and swine production, introduced Big Farm Net Fusion, a new digital platform designed to collect data that will allow producers to make real-life decisions that positively impact their production, during IPPE 2022 in January.

Big Farm Net Fusion will complement the 84-year-old company’s complete line of poultry, egg and swine equipment with the mechanical elements that integrate with the new digital platform, said Clovis Rayzel, president at Big Dutchman. And the new system is designed to collect a lot of data.

“The value is really in harvesting the data and bringing with it enough quality that people can make decisions that really impact their operations in a meaningful way,” said Rayzel. “It’s very easy to just collect data, but to organize it in a way that really makes sense for real-time use is more difficult. We believe we’ve got that really well packaged and well done.”

The analysis of the data is what will help producers make big decisions. Rayzel noted producers already have a tremendous amount of information, but it is poorly packaged or gets to a point where it is interesting, but not actionable. With actionable information delivered by Big Farm Net Fusion, producers can make good things happen on their operations based on quality information.

Sustainability is one aspect of this new digital platform. Rayzel said the company continues to pursue more ways to monitor and measure all aspects of sustainability.

“That is very much in the DNA of this product,” said Rayzel. “Everybody wants that. And in the end, if we are providing better quality information, we need to be able to provide those aspects that are related to sustainability.”
